In Sacco Digestibility Sorghum Hydroponic Fodder From Different Cultivar And Harvest Time
Abstract
This experiment was designed to find best cultivars and harvest time of sorghum hydroponic fodder based on the rate of degradation of feed nutrients in the rumen. The materials used were Sorghum with cultivar KD4 with a harvest time of 8 days (K8), KD4 with a harvest time of 12 days (K12), Super 1 with a harvest time of 8 days (S8), and Super 1 with a harvest time of 12 days (S12). Samples were incubated in the rumen of fistulated cattle with different time intervals, namely 2, 4, 8, 12, 16, 24, 36, and 48 hours. The collected data were the nutrient (dried matter) digestibility residues in rumen. Data were analyzed using Completely Randomized Design (CRD). From the calculation of in sacco rumen, it was obtained the degradation theory (DT) values of dry matter (DM). The data obtained were analyzed using variance (ANOVA). If there is an interaction or main effect of factor A or factor B, it will be further tested with Duncan's test. The results of the calculation in sacco rumen obtained the value of theoretical degradation (DT) from DM K8 22.99%, K12 23.67%, S8 13.37%, S12 15.21%. The results showed that there was no interaction between the two factors (cultivar and harvest time) on the kinetic value of the degradation of hydroponic fodder sorghum feed ingredients, but showed significantly different results (P<0.05) on the value of the dissolved fraction and DT of DM on the type of cultivar and differences which is not real at harvest time. The conclusion of this research is that the time of the average value of the soluble fraction and the rate of degradation has no effect on the harvest time, but in the KD4 cultivar the average value of the dissolved fraction and the rate of degradation is higher than Super-1.
