Peran Perguruan Tinggi dalam Mendukung Inovasi Sosial untuk Peningkatan Kualitas Hidup Masyarakat

Universities have a strategic role in supporting social innovation to improve the quality of life of the community. This article discusses the concept of social innovation, the role of universities, and examples of social innovation implementation in Indonesia. This research applies a qualitative approach through case studies to explore the role of universities in improving the quality of life of people in Indonesia. This approach considers the context and its complexity. The results show that universities can significantly contribute to improving people's quality of life through social innovation. This can be achieved by universities raising awareness of the importance of social innovation, the government supporting the development of social innovation through policies and regulations, and the community needs to be involved in the process of developing social innovation. Universities have a strategic role in improving the quality of life of people in Indonesia. Universities must build cooperation with the community, industry, and government to develop sustainable social innovation. By optimally implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, universities can contribute to the progress of the nation to improve the quality of life of the people.
